Chinese Medicine Doctor

Since graduating with a joint Bachelors of Science Honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the Beijing University for Chinese Medicine and Middlesex University (London, UK) in 2004 having interned at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital 中日友好医院 and the XiYuan Hospital 中国中医科学院西苑医院, I have been striving to deliver the best clinical results for my patients. This passion has lead me to seek out the best teachers within the various specialities of Chinese Medicine. I took extensive training at the Beijing Massage Hospital in 2007 with a four-month internship in the study of Tuina. I later brought western techniques into the mix with the completion of a Neuromuscular Therapy paper at Wellpark College where I also taught Acupressure. I have plunged my fingers into the wonderful world of Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridian Techniques with Mark Finch and had hands-on training in Daoist ZangFu Acupressure with Andrew Nugent-Head. I have studied Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis with Karen Bilton,  and trained in the treatment of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and other gynaecological and Infertility issues with Jane Lyttleton. With over ten years of experience as a massage therapist, I have recently had the privilege of training with Ann Cecil-Sterman and apply a unique classical Sinew Acupuncture technique for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

I enjoy working with people to address their musculoskeletal ailments, with my years of experience gained as an ACC provider.

To further my practice in nutritional medicine I have completed training with Dr Clare Pyers (TCM) in the bridging of functional medicine and TCM in interpreting Blood test and functional testing results.

I am a certified Fertile Life™ Method practitioner. This method provides both couples and individuals who have been experiencing primary and secondary infertility, whether through IVF or trying to conceive naturally, with a comprehensive program of natural treatment options to conceive and achieve a successful pregnancy. This method is a fusion of Chinese Medicine, nutritional therapy and functional medicine and an understanding of the best that Western Medicine has to offer.

Currently I have turned my attention back to the Classics, to the study and application of the Complete Acupuncture system, meaning using all 68 Acupuncture channels as described in the seminal texts the Ling Shu 靈樞經 and Su Wen 素問, rather than just the 12 Acupuncture channels used in TCM.

For over 8 years, I was intensely involved with the New Zealand Institute of Chinese Medicine providing Continuing Professional Development education to Chinese Medicine practitioners in New Zealand in the roles of Treasurer, Secretary and President. Currently I run my own Study Group sharing the wisdom of Advanced Acupuncture.

My clinical focus is on empowering people to take their health into their own hands, and I offer solutions in the form of lifestyle and dietary advice, nutritional therapy, Massage & Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Aromatherapy and other techniques from the Chinese Medicine toolbox.

I am registered with  New Zealand Acupuncture Standards Authority and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). These professional bodies guarantee the highest standards of training, care and professionalism. All members adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, Practice and Disciplinary Procedures and are professionally insured. I am the mother of three and love living out in West Auckland.

I look forward to working with you,

Ada Sobieszczuk
